What you'll be doing: Join the Enterprise Architecture team with a primary responsibility to be the Cloud Platform and Application Architect. Staples is on an exciting journey to redefine customer experience and deliver new brand, products and services to our customers. We are on our journey to public cloud by transforming legacy applications to Cloud Native and Event Driven Architecture. We are looking for a strategic thinker, thought leader and problem solver as part of our Enterprise Architecture team to drive the standards and reference architecture across the organization. You will collaborate across architects, engineers, and business partners in the enterprise and drive simplified and modern architecture on the cloud to reduce our technical debt and bring agility to the business platforms. You will be joining the Enterprise Architecture team with a focus on Cloud Platform Architecture working closely with Cloud Engineering and Application domain teams. Our journey to a Digital Enterprise has started and Enterprise Architecture is leading the charge. You will be the trusted advisor for application teams within Staples Digital Solutions in this journey.If you want to make a difference, we want to talk to you! What you bring to the table:
- A customer first mindset to drive architecture that is scalable, cloud first, cost effective and increase business agility.
- Highly collaborative individual who can work with technical and business teams to influence key architectural decisions
- Lead the cloud platform reference architecture for Modernization initiatives across the Staples Digital Solution
- Work very closely with Cloud Engineering and Security Engineering team to drive the reference architecture around Container as a Service(CaaS) and Platform services for public cloud
- Define target state architecture and develop phased roadmaps that front load business value and deliver critical capabilities
- Drive the reference architecture for API Management, API Marketplace and API security.
- Trusted advisor for Cloud Platform and Event driven Architecture for delivery teams
- Ensure alignment of solution architecture to cloud first principles
- Provides architectural guidance and mentoring to multiple development teams
- Develops and documents current and target state architecture diagrams and mappings
- Provides architecture oversight of application and technology projects and programs
- Motivate, coach, and serve as a role model and mentor for other architects
- Drive innovation by constantly looking at new technologies and frameworks that aligns with our future state vision and build reference architecture around them to evangelize across engineering teams.
Qualifications : What's needed- Basic Qualifications
- BS Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- 10 years of experience around Solution Architecture and distributed systems
- 10+ years of very strong hands-on experience with Java/Spring/Springboot based Solution Architecture and Development
- Very strong and demonstrable experience around Kubernetes, Kubernetes Platform patterns and Azure Container services
- Strong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and frameworks like Terraform and Helm
- Hands on experience with Azure APIM, Azure AD and Azure Platform services
- 5-7 years as Enterprise Cloud Architect with hands on experience on private and/or public cloud platforms
- Experience working on large, transformational projects and a proven ability to bring disparate technical teams together around a shared architectural vision
- Very strong knowledge of modern cloud deployment patterns and architecture
- Demonstrated experience in architecting on the cloud native solutions on Azure
- Experience with agile software development methodologies
- Strong business mindset with customer obsession; ability to collaborate with business partners to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills to both executives and technical architects and developers
What's needed- Preferred Qualifications
- Master's in computer science or other Engineering disciplines
- Strong Ecommerce platform experience.
- Practical experience in Data Governance Tools and Implementation at Enterprise Level
