Deliver tool flows. Provide expertise in design methodology creation and implementation. Create design flows and methodologies. Provide customer specific design assistance. Support RTL-to-GDSII implementation for blocks, sub-systems, and full SoCs. Execute full turnkey SoC designs from specification-to-parts. We have an immediate opening for a Senior Staff SoC Engineer specializing in physical implementation to join our team. Does this sound like a good role for you?
In this role you will be primarily responsible for hardening blocks, IPs, Subsystems and/or Top-level implementation and closure. Our engineers typically own end-end implementation which would require good understanding of Synthesis, Formal/Timing/EMIR closure, Floor planning, PG Grid while having deep technical understanding of P&R concepts, tools, and methodologies. The role may require you to work autonomously with customers providing design assistance or be part of a larger team owning full design implementation in a turnkey fashion. Experience in driving a technical team for block level implementation and/or hands-on experience with top-level implementation such as RTL/Bumps/PG etc. is desired. You will have the opportunity to drive large, cross-geographical RTL2GDS projects which requires good communication and problem solving and program management skills.
Key Qualifications
- Must excel in Physical implementation, teamwork, customer focus, and communication
- Will have demonstrated experience as a senior technical contributor, planning and leading Physical Design teams
- Recent experience in advanced technology nodes (such as TSMC 7-/5-/3-nm, Samsung 7-/5-/4-/3-nm, etc.)
- SoC experience in high performance designs (Power, Performance)
- Demonstrate intimate knowledge of the Synopsys tools, flows and methodologies required to execute design projects
- Requirements: BS with 10+ years relevant experience. MS with 7+ years relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in at least one or more of the areas such as HPC, AI/ML, Automotive, Aerospace and Defense is highly preferred
- Hand-on experience in design implementation doing physically aware synthesis, PG planning, Floor planning, MSCTS, Place and Route
- Good understanding of clock specifications, power intent/UPF, DFT requirements, constraints, and formal verification
- Deep understanding of Physical verification and EMIR issues and fixes
- Experience directing technical teams to execute RTL2GDS
- Experience creating work-around scripts and/or exposure to flow development
The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $133,000 to $232,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
