Job Description: Rakuten Advertising, headquartered in San Mateo, California provides digital marketing and advertising services with rich consumer insights that help brands reach new customers and sustain loyalty. Media solutions is an important part of the portfolio, and we are looking for a strong Engineering Leader that is innovative and has great experience in product development, quality assurance, and DevOps. Experience in engineering in an RTB environment is an advantage. This role reports to the CTO of Rakuten Advertising. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead local and remote software engineering teams Co-manage team strategy and OKRs with Product and Product Design counterparts, while driving success against the strategy and OKRs Be a leader in technology trends and evolving social behavior of the engineering team under you to support the successful build and delivery of world-class software Manage and foster individual and team growth of your local and remote teams Establish standards of performance and monitor the performance of technology systems that the team owns. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence Lead agile planning processes to achieve engineering goals by identifying and prioritizing development agile stories and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of technology builds Recruit, hire, and manage the performance of your staff, including personal improvement, mentorship, performance reviews Measurably improve both discovery and delivery efficiency for product development teams

10+ years of Software Engineering experience building large scale service-backed consumer-facing web and mobile SSP / RTB solutions 7+ years in a leadership role including managing Engineering leaders/managers Successfully transitioned organizations to modern Engineering processes and tools Demonstrated experience using real-world data and analytics to drive both product and team improvements and success Deep understanding of mobile app and web app ecosystems and technology Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute strategic initiatives to advance and drive product direction and vision Proven track record for hiring, retaining, and developing talent Strong ability to communicate, motivate and energize across the entire product development organization Thorough understanding of various development methodologies to drive overall communication, efficiency, and quality Natural desire to continuously improve
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience Broad knowledge of industry and trends in Media, Programmatic and eCommerce Experience with both startups and established companies Experience driving security and privacy best practices Experience in a B2B2C business
