for Virginia Premier Health Plan

Job Summary:

The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and implementing applications and technologies for the customer base. Responsibilities include the following: Project Management, Product Support, Customer Support, and Communication.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The IT Systems Analyst will perform technical support activities within QNXT application. In this position, you'll be responsible in building extensive expertise in QNXT, performing analysis and troubleshooting system related issues. In addition, an IT Systems Analyst will be the primary contact for one or more QNXT system interface applications and is expected to provide expertise with matters relating to this interface and its functionality.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Performing testing for both QNXT core and customization code
  • Understand business goals and translate them into customization requirements
  • Ability to perform data analysis by extracting data, analyze and summarize findings to draw
  • business conclusion for decision making
  • Identify key components of a project and evaluate the impact across the organization
  • Understanding all aspects of program operations, including policies and procedures, program guidelines, file layouts and requirements, general rules and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in the use of configuration standards
  • Creates complex design documents through the assessment of requirements; assesses alternatives to different designs and chooses best solution to fit business needs
  • Recommend improvements and assess the work of other team members
  • Work in cooperation with other team members, business areas to accomplish business objectives
  • Assist QNXT Technical Support team in other activities as directed

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree required - with focus in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related technical field also preferred

Special Skills/Knowledge:

  • Trizetto/Cognizant QNXT working or configuration experience
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong knowledge of software implementation/development life cycle
  • Strong documentation skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of EDI X12 file formats are helpful
  • Proven ability to analyze data and processes
  • Experience with developing process flow charts or similar diagrams
  • Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience working in Information Systems or other related areas providing application support and/or configuration management
  • 2+ years of working experience in health insurance industry
  • 2+ years of experience writing TSQL or SQL queries
  • 2+ years of experience working in Information Systems (system configuration, SQL platforms) preferred
  • 2+ years MS SQL server experience
  • Strong knowledge of QNXT UI and QNXT backend Databases and Tables.
  • Strong SQL skills to be able to query QNXT backend.
