Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, plans, organizes and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Coordinates care of patients in collaboration with healthcare professionals, family and caregiver. Utilizes experience and education to provide support for program development, performance improvement, and student /workforce education. Assists in the safe, efficient and high quality operation of Rehabilitation Services.

Education:

1. Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy required.

2. If degree was completed prior to 2015, Masters degree in Physical Therapy required.

Experience:

1. One year experience.

2. Previous experience in outpatient care environment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Knowledge of theory, principles and practice of physical therapy.

2. Knowledge of safety principles in patient care environment.

3. Knowledge of standards, polices and procedures of Denver Health as they pertain to physical therapy.

4. Ability to integrate requirements of the facility and/or regulatory agencies into clinical decisions and documentation.

5. Demonstrates competency for physical therapy treatment methods, techniques and approaches per professional, start and agency standards.

6. Ability to meet physical requirements of job classification (lift, pull/push, carry, transfer patients, etc.)

7. Ability to abide by the ethical guidelines as outlined by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Credentials

Current Physical Therapist License in the State of Colorado.
