Job Summary

Looking for motivated employees with experience and or current coursework in computer networking and low-voltage cable
installation.

Representative Duties:
Assists staff with building and maintaining the campus network infrastructure -- maintains computer networks and classrooms,
installs and troubleshoots network cables, uses helpdesk software, maintains documentation, installs and troubleshoots
networked computer equipment, performs related duties as assigned.

  • FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
  • FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
  • FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
  • The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge and or experience with networking hardware and methods, experience with CCTV cameras, experience working on a construction site, knowledge of structured cabling systems, associated equipment and cabling, wiring standards and configurations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret documentation, install network equipment, create user documentation for simple tasks, work with tools to perform minor construction tasks, maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
  • Current coursework in a computer networking related field can fill in for some qualifications.
