Systems and Network Security Engineer

The Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to share your experience in configuration and integration of network devices and systems, identifying efficiencies to safeguard our nation? As a systems security and network security engineer, you can identify the hardware and software needed to assess vulnerabilities and make recommendations on the best solutions and security strategies. We need your experience to lead the development and implementation of security solutions that will protect infrastructure and data.

On our team, you will troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of network and security devices, custom threat software, and experience with red team and blue team methodologies. You will function as an expert in specific custom Purple teaming software and train others to utilize this software for red and blue team integration. You will use your curiosity for technology and market trends to further research and develop security solutions. Using your knowledge and experience in threat hunting or pen testing, and security standards and regulations, you will assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls. You will automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor health of quality assurance standards and procedures. You will broaden your experience in networking in support of unique requirements that have lasting impact!

What You'll Work On:

  • Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.

  • Implement infrastructure and cyber security controls including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities, and improved event correlation in large enterprises.

  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas; leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

You Have:

  • Experience in integrating systems, platforms, and applications

  • Experience in basic configuration of network devices including switches, routers, and firewalls

  • Experience with standard commercial computer analytics and cyber security toolsincluding network vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection monitoring, or network traffic analysis

  • Experience with development teams on the creation, evaluation, and sustainment of new and existing analytic capabilities

  • Experience in providing recommendations to improve data collection, data flow, and data visibility

  • Experience with crafting including translating technical syntax rules and associating tool standards to discover trend analysis of indicators of malicious and anomalous activity

  • Experience providing statistical analysis of customer network traffic, creating network traffic baseline, identifying network anomalies, and analyzing packet capture

  • Experience responding to IOC's in network traffic by conducting in-depth forensic investigations for each host, identifying any malicious activity, and providing mitigation strategies for intrusions discovered.

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with issue and project tracking software

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies

  • Experience with project management framework

  • Experience with penetration testing, red teaming, blue teaming, or incident response

  • Experience with penetration testing techniques and vulnerability research

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills including writing and maintaining technical documents
