Responsibilities

The candidate will support Draper's responsibility to specify and develop highly reliable, real-time embedded avionics and safety critical systems in the Embedded System group. This group provides full spectrum embedded system solutions for first-of-a-kind nationally important missions. The candidate should have excellent knowledge and experience in real-time embedded software. Activities include the entire system and software life cycle from requirements definition, architecture design specification, implementation through integration & test as well as research support in specific areas. She/he will be expected to maintain state-of-the-art technical expertise in avionics and embedded software engineering specializing in redundant fault tolerant systems.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    MS or B.S. in EE/CS, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 0-3 years of work experience in full life-cycle software development
  • Experience with embedded software development (BSP, Device Drivers, Application-level designed for limited resources, Custom Bootloaders, Memory Management, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience developing using C/C++

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past design experience with UML/SysML
  • Experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • Familiarity with modern software development tools for version control, static and dynamic analysis and continuous integration is a plus

Security Requirement:

  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
