This position is based Remotely in the Boston, MA area.

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

The successful Field Application Specialist should have a strong understanding of the Drug Discovery market. We are looking for a team player, with customer relationship building skills, who is hard working, smart, and loves to get results. You will specialize in supporting the CST Sales, Marketing and Product Development scientists by providing technical and product support during the sales process and maintaining strong domain expertise and developing in-depth technical knowledge of Cell Signaling Technology products, services and applications.

Primary responsibilities include the following:




    Provide application and portfolio support during the sales process

  • Play a key role in differentiating and positioning products and services based on scientific, technical, and competitive principles
  • Conduct and present technical webinars/ seminars to labs, user groups, and at local client meetings
  • Assist in defining value propositions and conducting bench work experiments to support the development of critical applications, creating relevant experiment data for use in a broad range of marketing collaterals
  • Partner with Product Management and Research & Development to identify and assess potential application areas using the existing portfolio or suggestions for product development
  • Partner with Commercial Training Manager to organize, develop and deliver internal trainings/workshop sessions
  • Identify customers for potential joint collaborations
  • Participate in scientific conferences and customer visits

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, CST requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:



  • Masters degree in Life Sciences or related specialty such as biotechnology.
  • 3-5 years FAS, Sales, or Sales Support experience in the Life Sciences industry
  • 2+ years of research experience in Cell Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, and/ or Neuroscience fields.
  • Previous laboratory experience working with antibody applications, preferably Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence (IF) or High Content Imaging.
  • A good understanding of drug discovery and/or diagnostic workflows and the technologies employed
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with cross-functional partners and customers
  • Ability to manage high volume of communications (email, phone, and in person)



Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:



  • PhD in Life Sciences or related specialty such as biotechnology.
  • Working knowledge of IHC and High Content applications including confocal and fluorescent microscopy instrumentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • Must have strong time management skills
  • Ability to work in a complex sales environment
