Job Summary Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking for a dynamic, people-leader in its Customer Care department. Customer Care includes the Helpdesk and Desktop Support teams which are responsible for customer and computer endpoint support at all District Office locations. The Customer Care team supports users through a variety of communication styles including face-to-face, phone, chat, and email. The ideal candidate will have related experience in both Helpdesk and Desktop Support areas and a passion for developing employees into leaders. This technology enables MCCCD to affordably deliver high-quality, timely, accessible, and informed service to all students. Essential Functions 40% - Plans, prioritizes, organizes, assigns, reviews and evaluates the work of staff; ensures customers are provided excellent customer service; identifies training needs and opportunities; ensures knowledge base articles and related documentation is being updated and completed 30% - Supervises day-to-day activities of staff; conducts performance evaluations; coordinates trainings; participates in the hiring process and appropriate performance/behavior discussions and activities; develops work schedules 10% - Works independently or jointly on IT projects (e.g. annual computer refresh, imaging and prepping computers); interacts with vendors for quotes, on-site walk throughs, and/or troubleshooting; collaborates with stakeholders to identify their technology needs 10% - Researches new technologies and methodologies to create/enhance efficiencies within the department; runs reports to ensure SLA's and customer service metrics are met; implements strategies to increase service scores and vendor efficiencies; recommends purchases; lean forward approach with an eye on planning for the future 10% - Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field, four (4) years of technical experience in an area directly related to assignment including two years of lead work or senior level experience. Or High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of technical experience in an area directly related to assignment including two years of lead work or senior level experience. Desired Qualifications A. Associate's degree or higher in an IT related field B. Experience leading a Helpdesk and/or Desktop Support environment C. Experience administering SCCM/Intune/JAMF, or other endpoint management systems D. Experience in Higher Education, preferably in a leadership role in an IT environment Special Working Conditions
