Position Summary:

We are seeking a Scientist in B cell immunology to help drive innovation in our Antibody Technology group. The successful candidate will have a strong background in B cell biology with expertise in antibody discovery, cloning, and characterization. This individual will work in a highly collaborative environment to develop and implement: innovative immunization methods, advanced antibody discovery technologies, antibody characterization methods, and cell isolation methods.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of B cell selection technologies to capture immunoglobulin repertoires.
• Apply and develop novel methods for the rapid discovery of desirable antibodies.
• Actively drive exploratory activities from the bench.
• Share and contribute scientific expertise with team members.
• Continuously identify and help to drive technological advancements that lead to more efficient and scalable means of antibody development.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in immunology (or closely related field) is required.
• Background in monoclonal antibody generation, antibody repertoire analysis, and library preparation for NGS sequencing
• Understanding of B cell biology (Human, Mouse, Rabbit) and single cell methods.
• Experience in flow cytometry-based instruments (sorter, analyzer) and data analysis software
• Experience in tissue culture techniques and functional assays including antibody characterization and epitope binning.
• In-depth experience with plasmid manipulation and cloning.
• Knowledge of bioinformatics tools to analyze B and/or T cell repertoires.
• Ability to independently design, execute, and interpret scientific experiments.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong background in immunoassay and in vivo model development and execution.
• Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and interpret scientific experiments.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Proven experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to perform research in the context of small animal models.

Preferred:

• Experience with high throughput screening and automation.
• Familiarity with Octet or SPR based instrumentation.
• Understanding of molecular biology techniques for cloning, sequencing antibodies, and engineering antibodies.
