Supply Chain Coordinator

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be able to pass Shipyard Background check
  • 5 years' or more experience with supply chain support of rapidly changing manufacturing or installation environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Read and understand engineering drawings
  • Compile bills of materials from drawings and change documents
  • Liaison between SRC shipboard personnel and SRC subcontractor


DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems
  • Experience in procurement
  • Experience in inventory control/warehousing

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Manages materials coming to and going from the ship. Creating shipping documents and maintaining material tracking spreadsheets
  • Organizes all materials on the ship required by the installation crew, recording receipts, material locations, and issues out
  • Notifies the project team when certain materials are received to determine the next action
  • Receives Material Requests (MR) from SRC personnel performing installation activities aboard ships being overhauled at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA
  • Creates serialized material requisitions based on MRs
  • Catalogs MRs, enter MRs into tracking system to report status and to drive MRs to completion
  • Forwards MRs to procurement personnel at an SRC subcontractor in Suffolk, VA for material ordering, receiving, and delivery to the ship space
  • Maintains material status tracker in real time and post to SRC network so that management at NNS and SRC Charleston can access the information
  • Coordinates professionally and effectively with SRC personnel at NNS and an SRC subcontractor in Suffolk, VA to ensure the material needs of SRC installers are met
