Responsibilities

Description of duties of position:

Draper has an immediate opening for Packaging Laboratory Technician who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and enjoys supporting unique, challenging, and high-impact problems using cutting-edge tools and technologies. A successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, solid technical background, excellent communication and organizational skills, an attention to detail, and an ability to interact well with others as part of a cohesive team to enable them to thrive in Draper's fast-paced and collaborative environment. The selected candidate will join a diverse and accomplished team of biologists, physicists, and engineers. Key Responsibilities:

* Execute experiments in molecular biology, including sample preparation, quantification, nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing

* Perform technical work both independently and collaboratively

* Execute experiments with automated laboratory equipment and instruments

* Follow strict methodology to execute experiments and analyses

* Work closely with senior technical researchers to adapt to changing, diverse project needs

* Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, chemicals and instruments

* Maintain strong laboratory organization and detailed records

* Organize data results and share with senior technical research leader(s) frequently

* Maintain sample/reagent inventory in accordance with project procedures



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    1 or more years of experience; Associates Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated competence and hands-on experience with:
    • Manual wire bonding
    • Semi-automated wire bonding
    • Metrology sample preparation: Cleaving, potting, polishing, and grinding
    • Microelectronics assembly: hand soldering, adhesive dispense and cure
    • Metrology: pull testing, shear testing, optical microscopy and documentation
    • Test and measurement: chip probing, manual data acquisition (resistance, voltage, temperature, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, work in a dynamic and diverse project environment, and adapt to changing priorities

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Ability to perform multiple technical tasks independently
  • Organizational skills and ability to maintain a detailed laboratory notebook
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to record and analyze data and interpret acceptability of data results
  • High degree of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Candidate must be a US citizen. Candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance.

As a condition of employment, employee is required to become a member of The Research, Development and Technical Employees Union. This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
