Responsibilities
Under supervision, the Accountant 3 performs professional accounting and financial duties for the Health System. Plans, develops and coordinates moderately complex professional financial analysis in an independent manner and have broad knowledge of general ledger and budgetary systems, accounting, and healthcare financial practices. Prepares financial analyses and reports including variance analysis reports, financial statements, and other ad-hoc financial reports for presenting to various levels of personnel, from departmental staff to senior management. Provides support to improve finance processes.
Acts as a general accounting liason to various departments on an assortment of multifaceted projects, including system implementations, process designs and redesigns, and financial system training. Prepares workflows and recommendations to assist the organization in improving Health System general accounting recording and reporting.
Required Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting function and assignment
  • Thorough knowledge of financial transactions and financial systems
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP theories and practices and analysis of moderate accounting projects
  • Excellent MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio. Intermediate to advanced skill set in Microsoft Excel, including (but not limited to) Pivots, Sumifs, IFs, and Vlookups
  • Demonstrated professional level of analytical, statistical and mathematical skills to conduct complex financial analyses
  • Experience with general ledger accounting transactions
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to contribute to or lead part of a multi-functional team and to assume responsibility for coordination and completion of complex projects requiring interactions with many individuals
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of common desktop/web applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA license or CPA candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field and/or equivalent experience and training desired
  • 3-5 years accounting experience
