Regional Marketing Director -Americas

Huntsman's Performance Products Division is now searching for a new Regional Marketing Director -Americas. Reporting to the Regional VP, the Regional Marketing Director leads the development and execution of regional marketing and innovation plans. Directs the marketing activity for the PP business in the Americas region with particular emphasis on developing a strategy to differentiate and grow the business aggressively in the region. Also has responsibility for global co-ordination in selected markets.

As the Regional Marketing Director -Americas, you will:

  • Lead, implement and support the AMER marketing strategy for PP. These covers consolidating and strengthening PP market leadership position in selected markets
  • Deliver regional profit objectives
  • Develop and implement rolling five-year marketing strategies for the region working closely with the R&D and Commercial organizations.
  • Build and lead the marketing organization which includes Portfolio Management, Market Intelligence and Marketing Communication. Provide business direction and coaching to the marketing team in AMER.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for growth in the AMER region through acquisition, partnering or technology alliance that leverage PP's core technical and market competencies.
  • Lead the development of new communication platforms across the Region to drive synergy and ensure a consistent message.
  • Lead the optimal portfolio management across AMER and drive for continuous performance management to identify opportunities to enhance the product development and ensure spend allocation.
  • Strong strategic and conceptual thinking competencies allied to strong results orientation and people skills are required. The job holder must be able to take a high-level view of direction and requirements of selected markets in AMER and be able to translate these into practical, cohesive plans. He/She must then be able to effectively communicate these to the organization and secure commitment to their implementation at a pace that is consistent with market demands.

Skills and experiences required:

  • University degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline such as Business, Chemistry or Engineering with at least 5 years marketing experience with 7 years at a senior level. Extensive experience in senior marketing and business roles and a proven track record of delivering successful results at a speed consistent with the demands of this market. Familiarity with AMER PP markets preferred.

  • Responds quickly to the needs of the audience; Lobbies key people to get agreement; switches immediate tactics to suit changing situations when influencing others
