Position Overview
Supports the creation of RGA and client-based experience studies and reports. Supports and performs research into emerging topics of interest to RGA's global offices and clients. Create meaningful and professional reports to support research methods and findings.
Responsibilities
- Supports the creation of RGA and client-based experience studies and reports.
- Develops, maintains, and reviews experience study procedures and systems.
- Participates in the development and enhancement of underlying processes and recommends improvements in RGA experience analysis best practice standards.
- Conducts research in current and emerging topics of interest to RGA global R&D, such as experience studies, mortality/morbidity research, statistical techniques, distribution, and underwriting analysis, etc.
- Supports senior actuaries and assists with projects.
- Communicates key findings by creating meaningful and professional reports or presentations.
- Serves as a liaison with other associates and departments.
Requirements
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, or related field
- At least 1 of P, FM, MLC, MFE, C, or FAP1 actuarial exams completed
Preferred:
- Statistical modeling experience
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other database visualization tools
- 2 years of actuarial experience in life insurance
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Intermediate PC and technical skills, including spreadsheets, statistical programs, and actuarial software.
- Ability to compile, analyze, refine, and interpret large amounts of data
- Intermediate knowledge of actuarial mathematics and experience analysis concepts and techniques
- Competent knowledge and understanding of actuarial concepts
- Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
- Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
- Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
- Intermediate investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects
- Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
- Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
- Ability to foster customer service as needed
- Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines and work well with all levels of management
Preferred:
- Self-motivated, creative, and collaborative individual
- Familiarity with statistical modeling techniques and/or software (R, SAS, Stata, etc.)
- Familiarity with Alteryx and Tableau
- Basic knowledge of life insurance, health insurance, longevity, and annuity products
- Ability to challenge and enhance our analytical capabilities
- Time management skills
- Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
- Ability to set appropriate goals, coordinate resources, resolve issues and communicate

State of Colorado: This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $60,055 to $85,295 per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. #LI-TS1
