MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • To be authorized by the DoD Skillbridge program to participate and to have existing Cryptologic Technician-Maintenance (CTM) Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) troubleshooting and repair experience
  • A minimum of four (4) years' Navy Shipboard Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) system maintenance, or equivalent experience is required

    • Shipboard systems may include, but are not limited to:

      • Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Increment E/F
      • Integrated Submarine Communications Receiving System (ISCRS)
      • Cryptologic Carry-On Program (CCOP) systems




  • Must be able to perform work within equipment spaces onboard US Navy platforms
  • Expected to possess excellent oral and written communication skills and in the event prior documented experience is not present, candidates possessing a strong maintenance background, familiarity with Unix/Linux systems troubleshooting, low-level systems administration experience, or Radio Frequency (RF) testing will be given consideration provided they exhibit the ability to train to the aforementioned responsibilities
  • Must be skilled with the proper use of a variety of test equipment, including:

    • Time Domain Reflectometers
    • Spectrum and Vector Network Analyzers
    • Signal Generators
    • Frequency Counters
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Digital Multi-meters


  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to follow configuration documentation and procedures is required
  • Clear written and verbal communications skills and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Clear understanding in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must possess, or gain Security+ certification within six (6) months of start date
  • The ability to lift equipment greater than thirty (30) lbs and qualify for health screenings as required by US Navy Safety Programs Afloat


DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • U.S. Navy CTM "A" and CTM "C" Schools are preferred, but not required if the candidate has relevant/documented On the Job Training (OJT) experience

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

Put your SSEE CTM training and experience to use when you separate from the Navy by becoming a Field Service Representative (FSR) and Technical Representative (TechRep) at SRC!

The Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Program is the Navy's Flagship Signal's Intelligence (SIGINT) system; installed on U.S. Navy ships, Coast Guard platforms, Foreign Navy's and shore sites. Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic is the In-Service Engineering Agency (ISEA) responsible for lifecycle support, from development through transition. This support includes; but is not limited to; engineering, requirements analysis, testing, technical writing, fleet technical support, training, procurement, configuration management, production, warehousing, drafting and repair. This support, ultimately, is designed to ensure the deployed SSEE systems and Navy operators are positioned for success against our Nation's adversaries.

This Technician will be a member of the Afloat Signals Exploitation (ASE) Ships Signals Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) hardware solutions team supporting the repair, configuration, testing, and fielding of specific electronic equipment related to SIGINT systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong working background in electronics and radio frequency equipment troubleshooting and repair.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develops, reviews and executes equipment configuration and test procedures designed to prepare equipment for fielding or determine operability state of electronic equipment
  • Troubleshoots and Repairs electrical/electronic equipment down to the lowest replaceable unit in order to return equipment to full operability state
  • Ensures testing, troubleshooting, and repair data is collected for all testing and repair actions performed
  • Assembles and documents equipment and procedures as part of a fielding/tech-refresh installation kit
  • Performs on-site installation of electronic equipment
  • Works with Fleet Electronic Support (FES) and Fleet Support Representatives (FSR) to support installation requirements
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information in order to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
