Vice President, Sales - Evanta Strategic Account

About this role:

Gartner's Conferences organization has an exciting role aligned to Evanta's sales team. The Vice President, Sales, Strategic Accounts is a highly motivated and successful leader, as well as a forward-thinking individual responsible for providing strategic direction to a tenured sales organization. The primary functions of the role are to attract, lead, coach and develop a team of Senior/Account Executives tasked with retaining and driving revenue into Evanta's Community portfolio.

What you will do:

  • Implement and execute strategy for over-achievement of business results tied to sales execution with a strong focus on retention and growth

  • Attract and retain top talent within the sales team by following Gartner's proven recruitment methodology, with a strong focus on building a pipeline of candidates for potential open territories

  • Develop internal relationships with business partners across multiple business lines

  • Strategize and collaborate with international sales leaders to assist in your team's opportunities

  • Partner with their team in developing trust and rapport with their clients' C-Level executives and direct reports across business lines/regions

  • Performance management of associates and creation of individual development plans/succession plans

  • Manage weekly/monthly sales reporting, roll-up forecasts and commission calculations

  • Drive high activity by conducting team prospecting sessions with direct reports

  • Take ownership for own professional growth and support the team's professional growth

  • Coach and Mentor Account Executive teams to create and execute a plan to exceed revenue goals

  • Performs reviews of account strategy for each assigned account to ensure financial and business results are met

  • Ensure application of established sales methodologies and best practices

  • Working with Sales enablement teams to create sales tools and materials which help articulate our value proposition

  • Become a catalyst for change by advocating for the needs of their team as well as pushing their team to challenge performance norms to exceed quota

  • Play a leading role in helping to identify/build and deliver training requirements

  • Supporting the selling process through direct engagement with strategic account sales teams, leveraging technology and improving processes

  • Responsible for co-developing the client engagement strategy with the team of Account Executives

  • Manage Sales pipeline through executing with precision, high-performance and disciplined sales management, specifically in the areas of forecast accuracy, CRM usage and pipeline development and progression

What you will need:

  • Minimum 8 years of sales experience in a business-to-business focus environment or consultative sales experience in a high technology (services, software, or hardware) environment, combined with five or more years' experience in sales management

  • Demonstrated experience in securing large-scale, complex deals

  • Experience in collaborating with deal teams such as Client Services, Legal, Order Management, Finance, etc.

  • Proven ability to identify enterprise-wide opportunities and structure innovative, integrated solutions that provide decision support to a global organization in achieving their business objectives

  • Ability to travel internationally to our global events and support sales associates in client facing meetings

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and motivate sales associates

  • Proven consistent over achievement of sales quotas and financial commitments

  • Strong business acumen, forecasting skills, influencing skills and communication skills (to share knowledge with a team to support the growth strategy within sales)

  • Strong demonstration of intellect, drive, executive presence, and sales acumen

  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters or advanced degree preferred
