Senior QA Automation Engineer

RGA in St. Louis MO seeks a Senior QA Automation Engineer to design and own test plans to completely test functionality according to requirement documents, design documents, problem reports or other applicable sources. The Senior QA Automation Engineer creates Test Scripts to automate regression Testing and develops designs and establishes standards for automation of QA components; performs end to end data validation and testing automation of complex software solutions; works closely with software developers and automation engineers to triage and resolve issues; develops and maintains automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing; and participates in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents.

Specific duties of the Sr. QA Automation Engineer include the following:

• establishes and implements automated testing processes for application, performance, stability, user-interface, object, regression and data quality;
• participates in the creation of and/or review requirements and detail design documentation in any form to understand system features and begin necessary test scripting and automation;
• works with various teams to create, enhance and maintain the Automation Frameworks across the products;
• interacts with Business Analysts, Users, designers and developers to further understand the system and/or resolve systems defects;
• develops test plans, test cases and test scripts utilizing appropriate toolset to cover system functionality as completely as possible;
• ensures personal and QA Engineers' test scripts adhere to approved scripting standards and guidelines;
• performs automated and manual testing efforts for our products;
• develops various reports to support testing and QA processes;
• analyzes and reports on defects utilizing appropriate defect tracking software;
• manages test data by setup and maintaining data driven tests;
• helps define, improve and implement QA best practices; assists the Executive Director in researching and recommending appropriate testing tools for use with the BA, QA team and developers;
• participate in Sprint planning and retrospective activities to continuously improve the Testing landscape;
• and mentors and teaches as appropriate, other BA and QA Analysts in the use of approved tools and procedures.

BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. The individual must possess at least 48 months quality assurance and testing of medium (6-8 months) to large (12+ months) size IT web-based software projects; at least thirty 36 months automation testing tools experience; and 12 months of knowledge and understanding of Total Quality Management, Software Quality Analyst or Test Engineer best-practices, or working towards certification in these areas. Additionally, the individual must possess experience with the following tools/systems: advanced experience with automation testing tools (e.g. Selenium/SOAPUI Pro, GEB/Fitnesse); advanced experience with Microsoft Test Manager and Team Foundation Server; experience with Groovy scripting and Cucumber; knowledge of Java programming and familiarity with Java development environments IntelliJ/Eclipse; knowledge of SQL and familiarity with SQL Developer/TOAD for Oracle; and knowledge of build tools Gradle/Ant and Jenkins.
