The Nurse Managerwill work on a Full-Time basis out of Helio Health’s Detox/Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility located in Binghamton. Location: Binghamton Evaluation and Inpatient Center
Responsibilities:
- The Nurse Manager promotes patients' health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area; directing and developing staff; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing support for patients and their families.
- Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting Helio Health's philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.
- Maintains nursing staff by supervising, orienting, and training nurses.
- Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; following up on work results.
- Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching and counseling patients and their families individually and/or in groups and reinforcing their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills.
- Resolves patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
- Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
- Maintains documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.
- Maintains nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies, and placing orders.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid, active Registered Nurse License with NYS.
- One to three years of clinical experience appropriate to program preferred
- Minimum Bachelor's in Nursing degree, Master's degree strongly preferred
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of addiction/recovery, self-help group process and principles of counseling.
