The Global Drug Development (GDD) organization oversees the development of new medicines discovered by our researchers and partners. We transform the lives of people by developing innovative and life-changing medicines.

What you will be doing:
* Independently designs and executes gene therapy downstream process development studies.
* Performs experiments at both small-scale and large-scale to support pre-clinical, clinical and commercial programs. Ensures these experiments are done in a timely fashion with high quality.
* Analyzes and interprets experimental data from process studies with strong statistical mindset. Makes decisions based on statistically sound conclusions. Presents study results internally and externally in a cross-functional setting.
* Authors technical reports of process development activities and laboratory experiments, such as development report, study report, investigational summary report, etc.
* Collaborates with cross-functional groups to advance pipeline programs.
* Keep up to date with the scientific literature and developments in the field.

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:
* Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related technical field with 5 years relevant experience or Master's with 3 years of relevant experience, or PHD with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
* Previous experience with a variety of biopharmaceutical purification processes such as chromatographic separation, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration, adventitious viral clearance, and impurity clearance.
* Proficient in statistical analysis principles and approaches. Working knowledge and experience with Design of Experiment (DoE).
* Knowledge of viral gene therapy and previous experience with adeno-associated virus (AAV) and/or lentiviral vectors (LVV) process development is preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
