Product Manager II -Patient Experience
Job Responsibilities:

  • Product Discovery -- more than 50% of your time will be spent working with your stakeholder groups on understanding the problems to solve and working with your Product team on how best to solve them. Your ability to use many different Product Discovery Techniques is integral to your success.
  • Product Ownership -- this part of the role is what you might think of as the traditional Product Owner roles. You run sprint planning, sprint grooming, backlog management and ticket triage in Jira. Your understanding of your team and their throughput will help you in tackling problems inside the framework of an agile sprint.
  • Organizational knowledge translated into risk analysis -- understanding of marketing, sales, services, finance, legal, privacy, compliance, regulatory affairs, government affairs -- your translation of risks in all of these areas to the team will ensure we make products that people love, that also align with our industry and organizational standards and principles.
  • Turning discovery into ideas, ideas into sustainable solutions. The team may be accountable for individual areas of risk -- but you are responsible for collaboarating with the entirety of the team to discover effective solutions and then bringing the team together to deliver those solutiosn to the market.
  • Convene your team for collaborative problem solving sessions -- and understanding how to get the most of out of each member of the team.
  • Align to and successfully drive Product Strategy to meet organizational and portfolio strategic and business objectives.
  • Fail fast. Effective, successful Product Management in this role is measured by outcomes, not outputs. Ensuring that the problems you are solving are quantified -- and that your solutions quantify the degree to which your team has solved the problem -- is the core responsibility of this role.

Education:
Required:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Knowledge hungry individual (What are the last three books you read for professional development?)
  • Solid foundational understanding of software development (basic computer science course)

Preferred:

  • SVPG (or equivalent) training with a focus on agile product development

Experience:
Required:

  • Two years of working on "technology-powered products" as either a product manager, designer, engineer, analyst, or implementer/trainer.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve (complex problems, many variables, many constraints) while also constantly assessing risk and the ability to articulate your ideas in writing

Preferred:

  • Ambulatory healthcare experience in some form or fashion -- could be as an office manager, or an MA, or a systems analyst
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding of "modern product" discovery techniques -- and of agile product development

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Constant, forever learner -- if they are not talking about "something I read last week...." then they probably aren't right for the role
  • Analytical, data-driven problem solver -- using data to form ideas/solutions
  • Multi-lingual -- only in the cross-functional organizational sense -- the ability to speak to I&T, support, sales, marketing, engineers
  • Desire to be held accountable -- we don't want people in this role that strive to build consensus before making a decision. Consider all inputs but then make a decision that YOU can stand behind. Consensus builders make bad product managers.
  • Only "curious people" should apply -- if you are the person at a social event that asks someone, "what do you do for a living..." and you are still asking questions 30 minutes later because you are genuinely interested, then this might be the job for you.
  • Ability to provide a safe space for your stakeholders to open up and genuinely talk about their problems.
