Job Description

The Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) global business unit has overall responsibility for all aspects of business strategy, development and management for commercial products, as well as platform development and commercial information management. VCS serves clients engaged in providing payment products to middle market and large corporate/multinational companies, governments and commercial supply chain/B2B segments. VCS is accountable for global interoperability of Commercial products and services, developing new channel solutions and technology support, building alliances and solutions for new products, technologies, platforms and market segment penetration, and business unit analytics and reporting.

JOB SCOPE

The Global Commercial Product Team has responsibility for the Global P&L and product vision for Visa's commercial solutions including creation of issuer segment strategies, commercialization of new and enhanced products and services, research and thought leadership, and product engagement with our issuing financial institutions and partners. The team serves financial institutions and their downstream clients by providing payment products and services to the large and middle market corporate/multinational companies, governments and commercial supply chain/B2B segments. The Global Team works collaboratively with the Commercial Platform and Commercial Sales Team as well as other regions, ensuring alignment of market positioning across all areas of Commercial.

The Global Director, Commercial Travel Product Lead will be responsible for our T&E Commercial business, strategy definition, the P&L and how we take these products to market on a regional and global basis. This senior-level role will lead the Commercial Product Team engagement with Visa's most strategic travel provider relationships, in close coordination with the Visas Partnership, Platform and Commercial Specialized Sales team members. In addition, the role involves working with the extended Commercial Product Team to identify gaps as well as new requirements for Innovative Travel solutions that meet issuer and end client needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with global team members, Review, Define and Own the Commercial Travel strategy in the market

  • Demonstrate industry leadership for travel across the issuer community for commercial products through market-driven knowledge, execute on specific travel vertical strategies to drive PV and revenue goals for Commercial line of business.

  • Responsible for P&L and day-to-day management of Travel vertical for Commercial Product team.

  • Oversee commercialization of Visa Commercial Travel Solutions for the NA Market for different client segments - from the traditional CTA solutions to Virtual Travel offerings to Wholesale Travel.

  • Define and prioritize a strong operating model with Visa's technology partners on specific Travel Enhancements and Product specifications

  • Coordinate across the Globe, Commercial Product teams and other internal Visa teams to ensure global alignment of solution offerings to Travel vertical (from CTA to Virtual to OTA).

  • Align work with Specialized Sales and Account Executives including the creation of client facing marketing collateral, sales presentations, and acting as product SME for product calls with our financial institution customers.

  • As gaps/new requirements are identified, collaborate with the Commercialization Team to define and prioritize these requirements for development using a Lean Canvas framework methodology.

  • In working with issuers and partners, engage the Commercial Product Team SMEs to define and validate custom solutions/integrations to ensure that the proposed offerings align with the broader Commercial Product strategy.

  • Strategize with partners on major initiatives and opportunities, leveraging customer interactions to identify new and enhanced products and services.

  • Using known or collected electronic payments industry knowledge to drive new product opportunities for our issuers and downstream clients.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Senior Leader with extensive experience (12-15+ years) in Product/Strategy and P&L management, preferably in Commercial card.
  • Knowledge of all electronic payment types including Commercial card payments experience.
  • Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-functional teams including technical and non-technical resources.
  • A strong sense of humor and outgoing behavior to keep things light when they're turning pear-shaped
  • Strong results-oriented leader, analytic and fact-based consultative discipline.
  • Add value to customers by insightful and thoughtful questioning, offering new ideas, and delivering solutions.
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.
  • Ability to work with leading industry partners and negotiate effectively to achieve desired outcome.
  • Able to work independently and in a matrixed environment.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
