Job Description

Visa's team of agile-minded, market-obsessed and client-centric product managers is looking for a Project Communications Manager to support Visa's continuous transformation efforts. In this role, you will report to the Director of Organizational Change Management as you help develop and execute employee engagement strategies across many overlapping and complementary change initiatives. The ideal candidate will enjoy building relationships across global organizations and roles. This is an opportunity for a proactive, strategic, creative and resourceful communicator who can manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously. They will need to consistently deliver high-quality work under time constraints and must be a self-starter with a propensity towards action and can move fast and be flexible in fluid situations in a cross-functional team environment.

As the world of payments continues to change quickly, driven by new payment methods, evolving customer demand, and often unpredictable global events, Visa must continue to change with it while keeping our product teams focused on our strategic priorities and our customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, implement and execute change communication strategies and messaging for key large-scale initiatives needing communication support.
  • Distill complex business insights and technical concepts into relevant, high-impact content, including presentations and visuals.
  • Provide hands-on writing, editing and production of content across multiple channels to drive desired behaviors by helping and supporting employee understanding of their impacts and benefits and what is happening within the function and in the broader Visa organization.
  • Own the end-to-end execution of communication materials (e.g., newsletters, announcements, all-staff messages and presentations, leadership talking point documents, etc.) encompassing the following (e.g.), creating plans, curating and editing customized content by audience, identifying effective channels, obtaining leadership approvals, and publishing materials.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally with partners.
  • Establish and implement a platform to measure progress and effectiveness of communications efforts.
  • Manage the day-to-day timeline of communication plans related to change management
  • Create and monitor a master calendar to support the execution of the communications strategy
  • Develop impactful talking points and other written materials for various executives and spokespeople as needed.
  • Ensure that all relevant employee communication is delivered in a way that is timely, accurate and on brand and aligned with the company vision, business strategy and leadership principles
  • Partner closely with colleagues on the global communications to ensure message alignment and consistency and to generate new content ideas.
  • Execute, coordinate, and contribute to cross-functional communications strategies, including team-wide events focused on a range of internal communications topics (e.g., critical business, product, culture decisions, project support).

Can be hired for Foster City or Austin

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

*8 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Journalism, or related work to support change and/or project management or organization development initiatives.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including stellar editorial proficiency (writing, editing, proofing). Writing samples will be required.
*Experience developing communications strategies, providing counsel and coaching executives and key stakeholders.
*Ability to create slide presentations and draft scripts
*Ability to capture the voice of leadership and communicate complex, technical concepts in a clear and compelling way tailored to the relevant audience.
*Experience setting up and managing collaboration tools such as MS Teams, SharePoint and MS Office.
*Aptitude to work forward in a collaborative way and be an effective team player with high standards for quality.
*Ability to be comfortable with deadlines and navigating a global matrixed organizational structure.
*Ability to think, plan, and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion.
*Hands-on team player with excellent project management skills, and the ability to be detailed-oriented, organized, and proactive.
*Good judgment skills and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information.
*Positive approach and commitment to collaboration with shared purpose.
*An understanding of communications as a change enabler, experience in change management initiatives a plus.
*Ability to influence others and build relationships within an organization, communicate regularly with key individuals and interface with all levels of staff, including senior leadership.
*Curious and passionate about people, culture, and the employee experience.
*Ability to work independently, think differently and drive change.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.
