Telephone Interviewers (Part-time)

Roanoke College is looking to fill intermittent, part-time positions of Telephone Interviewers to work with the Institute for Policy and Opinion Research (IPOR). IPOR conducts public opinion polls in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This position is anticipated to work seven days per month with more hours available in some months. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends. The pay rate is $12.00 per hour. Employees working evenings and weekends are eligible for incentives, bringing the hourly rate to $12.75. We hire throughout the year and review the pool of applicants on a biweekly basis. Additional information about IPOR may be found here: .

Requirements:


  • Experience in a call center conducting telephone surveys preferred.
  • Ability to read a script verbatim, computer skills and a good speaking voice a must.
  • Applicants should be comfortable wearing a headset and microphone.
  • Strong communication skills are expected.

Applicants outside of commuting distance to the College, but still living in Virginia or North Carolina, may be considered for remote work depending on experience. For such candidates, more technology skills, such as being able to download and use software, such as Zoom, is required.
