Director of Digital Merchandising

at ShopStyle

As the Merchandising Director, you will be responsible for strategy, execution, and performance of our partners and categories in US, UK, CA, and AU across web and app. This role will oversee assuring all products from retailers are on our site and visible, leveraging data to show trends and providing marketing with the best URLS based on content. You will be managing and developing four direct reports.

Responsibilities:



  • Deliver a world-class site experience, defining and launching brand-elevating digital experiences, which inspires new customers to visit, convert and come back and build loyal and lasting relationships with existing customers & retailers partnerships

  • Own key site metrics and analysis of site features to help develop strategies and recommendations to further optimize and drive the business

  • Drive cross functional Pods, working closely with BD, marketing,+ content. Work together to optimize our different segments of business (Designer, contemporary, and Value) report on KPI's CTR, AOV, and conversion. Work as a team to troubleshoot and drive efficiencies and ultimately drive commissions.

  • Oversee management of site browse experience including: category pages, curated shops, + brand dictionary. Work with the merch team to deliver product selects and linking strategy for marketing, driving customers to the most relevant products.

  • Drive deep analysis of our product category sales performance and develop models to help increase sales and collaborate with the business development team to understand growth opportunities.

  • Identify short- and long-term opportunities and priorities to drive profitable revenue growth. Implement changes that maximize conversion

  • Work with BD Director and Integrated marketing director to manage CB and help drive internal promotions. Ensure CB is driving sales, while managing margin.

  • Ensure customers are able to find what they are looking for effortlessly through site navigation, site search, filters, product search, suggest areas for optimization

  • Partner across Merchandising, Content, Creative, Promotions, BD, and Product teams to build and launch high quality digital experiences to support retailer partnerships and seasonal product

  • Analyze and report on quantitative and qualitative insights weekly, month, quarterly - e-commerce metrics, trends, market landscape, come up with optimization plans and make them actionable

  • Use internal data and customer insights to influence the Product team's roadmap; Advocate for new and/or improved site experiences to drive inspiration and engagement for the customer

  • Ensure new product pipeline flows on schedule, and own communication regarding project status updates, roadblocks & contingency plans.

  • Execute and communicate additions and updates to overall site strategy at divisional level, including Navigational alignment analysis, recommending all categories, subcategories and facets needed to display on site.

  • Continually drive improvements to the app and website experience by partnering with product and engineering to influence features / functionality in our roadmap.

  • Ensure the team appropriately QA new categories, ShopStyle site, as well as our partner sites, work with content to improve feed if products are missing.

  • Work with the marketing team weekly to build trend/category/brand pages that work best for sem performance. Work with SEO team to provide keywords and urls



Skills:



  • Strong leadership skills.

  • 6-8+ years' experience in fashion retail and/or merchandising, ideally in a technical, e-commerce, site merchandising role, with direct reports.

  • Demonstrated success leveraging data to drive business results

  • Strong ability to develop structured frameworks and approaches AND innovative thinking to solve ambiguous problems in a fluid environment

  • Analytical thinker with ability to drive metrics and benchmarks to ensure continuous improvement in process and results

  • Excellent listening, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
