This role requires 80% travel to EMS sites within the USA.

About the opportunity

As a Transition Technical Director, you will direct and coordinate activities of workers engaged in supporting computer operations during various transition phases at new or existing accounts. In this role you will support the CIO or other leadership by directly managing internal and/or client employees at the client location to appropriately set expectations and meet deliverables. You will be responsible for supervising the client's IT departmental budgets and the overall operations of these areas.

Where you will make an impact

  • Developing policies and procedures, based on industry best practices, necessary to carry out day to day computer operations and ensure business continuity at the client location
  • Developing high-level annual and/or multi-year tactical plans
  • Providing leadership and employee management, including skill evaluation and remediation planning
  • Coordinating tasks and staff assignments based on established priorities to ensure efficient operation
  • Providing hands-on implementation, configuration and management support of enterprise-level infrastructure equipment and applications
  • Providing project plan development and project implementation oversight to ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met
  • Establishing change management processes, as needed, for coordinating technology upgrade and maintenance activities with all business units
  • Evaluating data security profile and making recommendations for improvement
  • Evaluating new software or hardware requests and making cost-effective recommendations based on industry standards, cost/benefit analysis, and compatibility with the existing environment, software, or hardware

What you will bring

  • 10+ years of experience in the Information Technology field with the most recent 3 years in a Senior Technical role; or equivalent combination of education and experience planning, leading, and executing IT initiatives in a college or university environment
  • 3+ years in a Management/Leadership role of a Technical Services department or a Technical/Project Team
  • Direct management of Helpdesk, PC and Network operations
  • Experience in maintaining multiple IT budgets
  • Current experience with enterprise-level server and network support products and management of a large 3,000 + node network
  • Current experience with managing Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, SCCM, and Office 365
