Responsibilities:

This position performs skilled journeyman-level work to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of commercial HVAC equipment; maintains and repairs trade-related refrigeration hot water/steam systems, air-handling equipment, and other related heating and HVAC equipment.
Required Qualifications:


  • EPA-approved universal refrigerant recovery type I, II, & III CFC licenses;
  • Significant progressively more responsible HVAC experience; and
  • Must currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 . The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • HVAC Journeyman license;
  • Five years of experience with commercial HVAC systems; and
  • Completion of, or ongoing participation in, an acceptable apprentice-level HVAC training program.
