Job Description

ENSCO is looking for a technical manager to lead our Electrical Engineering team. You will be a key player in delivering railroad inspection technology to the industry. We integrate many technologies, such as solar power, GPS, IMUs, and cameras into ruggedized products that can handle harsh environments. We also develop and maintain standard products in-house using custom PCBs, firmware, sensors, PLCs, hydraulics, and more.

Job Responsibilities include:
* Lead your group in developing technical and innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.
* Set the scope, priorities, and acceptance criteria for firmware updates, PCB design, and sensor integration.
* Lead your group in solving technical field support issues while working with multiple engineering groups.
* Foster communication and ownership of work within the group.
* Ensure the group designs are completed on time and within budget.
* Approve all work coming out of the group for technical accuracy and adherence to project scope.
* Direct documentation structure and enforce compliance within the group.
* Interface with Project Management, Mechanical, Software, and Production leads to ensure that the electrical designs will integrate into the overall delivery to the customer.
* Prioritize and assign work within the group.
* Conduct yearly performance appraisals for each group member.

Qualifications Required (Skills)

* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience with document management and control software.
* Electrical, mechanical, software systems integration experience.
* Experience with real-time data acquisition systems
* Design experience with sensor interfaces and signal conditioning, including both analog and digital sensors.
* Embedded C development for ARM microcontrollers
* Software version control
* System component specification experience including computers, interface cards, sensors, and cabling.
* Ability to climb a ladder 15 feet high to gain access to railway cars.
* Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications Desired

* Minimum of 2 years of technical management experience.
* Railway industry experience.
* Python or MATLAB
* Experience with AutoCAD Inventor or AutoCAD Electrical design software.
* Design experience with hydraulic and pneumatic control.
* UL, CE, or similar compliance work.
* P.E. license.
