Position Summary:

This recruitment is for a Temporary Procurement Analyst position through UCI's internal temporary service.

Essential Job Functions:

The Procurement Analyst must have thorough knowledge of business intelligence functions, analytics, industry standards and best practices. Thorough knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools. Ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop and effective solutions. Detail oriented, with ability to manage time and organize competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner. Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a broad range of professional and technical staff. Proven ability to serve as a technical resource providing advice and counsel on business intelligence issues. Proficient in Microsoft Office products with advanced skills in Excel. Prepares monthly, quarterly, yearly reports as needed, including variance analysis and procurement spend data involving various departments and units. Able to clearly communicate a cohesive and concise story around spend data, contracted suppliers and potential implications and suggestions. Manage monthly analysis for procurement spend, inclusive of management reporting. Ability to report/analyze data using various database interface tools as well as Excel analytics, and Tableau reporting. Ability to perform analysis for highly complex purchasing projects dealing directly with major department managers. Performs spend analysis for department or organization on assigned vendors or commodities.

Compensation Range: Commensurate based on experience.

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting procurement, supply chain, or accounting activities

Preferred:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience being part of procurement transformations, ideally with exposure to the market leading solutions e.g., Ariba, Coupa, GEP, Jaggaer, etc.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., however, we also have occasional part-time, weekend and evening hours available.
