Navigation System Development Lead, New Shepard

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will support the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) team in the following areas:

  • Lead full life-cycle development of a safety-critical aerospace navigation system
  • Collaborate with team leads to manage scope, schedule, and budget
  • Support multi-functional systems analyses to drive architectural decisions related to navigation

You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field with 10+years navigation system design experience
  • Experience leading multi-functional development efforts spanning software and hardware using standards such as DO-178 and DO-254
  • Experience with product life-cycle management in mission and safety-critical environments
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
  • Proven expertise in designing, modeling, testing, and flying aerospace GNC systems
  • Experience using Gitlab and continuous integration tools
  • Experience supporting flight testing or launch operations
  • Experience designing and evaluating Monte Carlo simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, and software-in-the-loop testing
  • Experience with project planning tools (JIRA, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.)

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Estimated salary wage (Colorado only): $142K - $214K
