Description

UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Development Accounting Analyst to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provides basic accounting tracking and administrative support by preparing draw packages for development, redevelopment, and initial capital expenditure ("ICE") projects and tracking the budgets and costs associated with such projects. This position will also input and track contracts for development, redevelopment, and ICE projects working with Legal, the Development group, and the Construction Management group. Assists with accounting, reporting, and analysis while delivering a high quality of service and project deliverables.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




  1. Request vendor ID numbers, track contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and other various documents and distribute to vendors, project managers, accounts payable, and other operations' associates as necessary.
  2. Compile development, redevelopment, , and ICE draw packages for review by supervisor and senior management: seek all necessary approvals, code, record, and submit invoices to accounting for payment and receive and track lien releases and insurance certifications as needed.
  3. Respond to questions and inquiries from associates and other customers on draws and invoice processing.
  4. Assist in ensuring the ongoing oversight of vendor compliance. This role monitors and mitigates operational risks associated with contract management and vendor oversight.
  5. Monitor AP system for holds affecting draws or retail and assist in resolving.
  6. Code, input, and manage contracts within Peoplesoft Project Costing system.
  7. Review for accuracy and completeness vouchers for payments, analyze vendor accounts, contracts, and communicate with the development team and vendors regarding issues or concerns.
  8. Assist with the requesting, collecting, and maintaining of all necessary contract submittals including bonds and insurance documentation.
  9. Respond to questions and inquiries from members of the development team and accounting departments regarding ongoing projects.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.



PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:



  • Knowledge of general office practices, organizational policies and procedures. Follows established policies and procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve everyday issues.
  • Must have the ability to meet deadlines by working independently and with a team, as well as be able to determine priorities and move projects forward without direct supervision. Knowledge and understanding of business concepts and research principles, processes, and techniques. Knowledge of the principles of strategic business decision-making. Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, exercise sound judgment, and clearly communicates findings and advice.
  • Performs duties that require strong comprehension, analytical, research, composition, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to quickly develop strong internal working relationships. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and associates. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Skilled in the use of spreadsheet, relational database, and word processing software. Must have the ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.



TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some bending, stooping, and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:




  1. Associate degree in business administration, accounting, or similar degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  2. Minimum of two years' experience and/or training in an administrative or accounting position is required with construction draw and/or contract experience strongly preferred.
  3. Experience with PeopleSoft systems preferred.
  4. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.

Salary Range:
* $58,000.00/yr. (minimum) - $65,000.00/yr. (maximum), depends on experience

Bonus Potential:
* Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
