Job Summary

In addition to performing the duties of the Surgical Technologist, the Sr. Surgical Technologist functions in a specialty service and utilizes and troubleshoots service implementation and equipment and is a resource to the Surgical Technologist.

Department Description

The Moffitt Long Operating Room (OR) consists of 28 surgical suites. Our primary focus is tertiary/quaternary surgical care using team based staffing. Our complex surgery uses the most advanced technology, including hybrid suites and robotic surgery. Services include but are not limited to: General Surgery, Urology, Transplant, Cardiac, Vascular, Thoracic, OHNS, OMFS, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery.

Required Qualifications

• One year experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
• High School diploma; or equivalent experience
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist training program; or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated competency in more than one surgical specialty
• The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist

License/Certification

• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
