Location Statesboro Department Information World Languages and Cultures Job Summary The Student Assistant supports the World Languages and Cultures department as a Spanish Tutor beginning Summer 2022. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Georgia Southern University is a tobacco and smoke-free community. Responsibilities Provides assistance to students enrolled in Spanish courses Assists with writing guidance, reading comprehension, and grammar review Maintains tutoring attendance log; keeps attendance log via Google docs Uses a computer to provide tutoring virtually Uses EAB to create tutoring schedule and sign in kiosk Keeps attendance log via Google docs Attends tutor training sessions Shift Specifics: 10 - 15 hours per week. Flexible with schedule of availability Shifts scheduled Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM May have to work weekends Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education Pursuing a degree in World Languages and Cultures and/or successful completion of SPAN 2002 (Intermediate Language II), or an equivalent course, with a grade of "B" or better.
