Senior Patternmaker: Become the Newest Member of Kontoor Brands

Senior Patternmaker has advanced skills who executes the daily tasks of fit, 3D garment creation, technical design details, preparing blocks, grading patterns, creating production patterns, measurement specifications, and trains junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use 3D Virtual Software to support Design, analyze, and maintain consistency across fit categories.
  • Execute pattern changes related to fit, styling, and construction using 2D and 3D software with guidance from Fit COE.
  • Complete Pattern Worksheets, Body Specs, and Technical Design Specification and Details.
  • Grade patterns and analyze graded nest to make necessary adjustments to maintain fit and design integrity.
  • Effectively communicate fit intent, balance and construction details to makers via pattern, sketches and/or digital images/3D Garments.
  • Attend development meetings and oversee fit session protocol.
  • Create Zero Style Blocks and prepare for shrinkage application.
  • Review physical and 3D garments relative to fit, styling, construction, and accuracy.
  • Train and guide junior patternmakers and technical designers.

Experience/Education:

  • Four year degree in Apparel Design and/or certificate in Apparel or Fashion Design. Patternmaking focus preferred.
  • Experience in Production / First Patternmaking or technical design across multiple product lines and size categories.
  • Skilled in Flat Pattern, Draping, Fitting, and knowledge of Fabric Properties.
  • Experience in grading patterns, adjusting and/or writing grade rules to maintain the integrity of fit and proportion.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, construction, and fabric properties as related to fit and pattern requirements.
  • Microsoft Office Programs, Adobe Illustrator, and 2D Patternmaking Software. 3D Software a Plus.
