Job Summary

The Systems Performance, Estimation, and Algorithms Department (SPEAD) performs concept development, systems engineering, architecture analysis, algorithm development and evaluation support for national security space customers emphasizing Radar, Electro-Optical (EO) and Infrared (IR) sensors, missile warning/missile tracking (MW/MT) missions, Electronic Warfare (EW), space domain awareness (SDA), and space protection and security.

The selected candidate will provide analytical support, algorithm development, systems engineering and architecting, and modeling and simulation analysis for space surveillance systems, space protection and space threat susceptibility, vulnerability analysis and resiliency assessment.Candidate will interact directly with government customers as well as Aerospace program office personnel in the Colorado Springs area and collaborate closely with Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) and program office personnel in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, and other locations.

What you need to be successful

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, computer/data science, mathematics, or another related technical discipline

  • Experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis and/or algorithm development

  • Experience in modern data analysis techniques for algorithm design and evaluation

  • Experience with space systems to include orbital mechanics and/or spacecraft operations

  • Good interpersonal communication and briefing skills along with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with high-level government, Aerospace, and contractor personnel

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

How you can stand out

  • Four (4) years of applicable aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics experience

  • Background in modeling or data science of space-based Electro-Magnetic (EM) spectrum sensor systems

  • Familiarity and analytical experience with threat mitigation concepts for EM spectrum sensor and sensor concepts

  • Advanced technical degree in engineering, physics, computer/data science, mathematics, or another related technical discipline

  • Experience in researching, developing and applying advanced and innovative techniques for algorithm development for EM spectrum threat detection and characterization

  • Experience with tools to test and analyze the physical effects of EM spectrum interference on space systems

  • Current TS/SCI clearance

$67,573 - $117,940 - $168,307
