ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear Finance & Accounting teams overseethefinancial health andforwardstrategy for a portfolio of four global brands. These teams exercise expertise across Compliance, Credit, FinancialPlanning andReporting, Tax, Treasury, andProcurement. Advancing traditional Finance & Accounting functions, the organization is also driving exciting innovation in the applicationofadvanced analytics andautomatedintelligence.

The Columbia Sportswear Indirect Procurement team is responsible for the sourcing, negotiations, contracting, supplier management and operational buying activities surrounding Columbia's indirect spend in North America, Europe and China. We serve as a strategic thought partner to the business, seeking to drive more informed sourcing and negotiations and to deliver sustainable savings and value through a full lifecycle approach to Procurement.

As the Category Manager for Logistics, you will lead sourcing strategy development and execution for CSC's global transportation spend - ocean, parcel, 3PL, services - partnering closely with CSC's global Logistics and Supply Chain teams to deliver the best overall total cost and service levels across this high-profile category of spend.

Leveraging a strong working knowledge of logistics and transportation procurement, you will work across teams and regions to develop effective supplier management practices, as well as risk mitigation and cost reduction strategies. You will drive the sourcing calendar and lead contract management activities, working closely with Logistics and Supply Chain leadership to ensure overall alignment with broader supply chain objectives.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Category Strategy and Implementation

    • Partner closely with Columbia's Logistics experts to develop and deploy category sourcing strategies based in deep knowledge of the market, industry analysis, benchmarking, latest trends and overall needs of the business, leveraging third party resources where appropriate

    • Tailor approach and strategy to meet the specific needs of sub-categories - ocean, parcel, 3PL and services - to ensure unique needs of each area are properly addressed and supported

    • Develop, deliver, and track annual plans for the category, including sourcing, savings and KPI metrics. Define savings and value delivery metrics and regularly report on progress.

  • Sourcing and Supplier Management

    • Lead supplier bid and negotiation processes, execute sourcing activities in partnership with functional experts in the business

    • Draft and implement negotiation plans tailored to the specific needs of sub-categories or areas of spend to ensure the right goals are achieved

    • Lead the contract review process, working closely with business unit managers, Legal, Risk, Finance and IT to ensure proper review and capture of business and legal terms.

    • Ensure timeliness and quality of all contracts required for compliant and reliable business operations i.e. implementation in the appropriate systems, category compliance, contract management

    • Support global, local and regional supplier management activities (performance reporting and the monitoring and management of compliance)

    • Ensure the appropriate risk mitigation measures are in place for supplier/partner selection and contractual protection

  • Stakeholder Management/Business Partnership

    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key business stakeholders

    • Manage and monitor strategy development and implementation, working in partnership with the business teams across brands and regions

    • Provide clear and consistent communication to ensure dissemination of category specific messages (status, plans, compliance, market insights) as well as process transparency

    • Support the business teams by providing access to Procurement analytics and reporting

    • Support the development of a Supplier Performance Management framework for strategic supplier partners

YOU ARE

  • Able to demonstrate experience in sourcing, negotiating, and managing logistics services spend on a global scale

  • A skilled problem solver with a natural inclination toward continuous improvement

  • Capable of influencing and leading cross-functional teams and multiple projects in tandem

  • Comfortable leading change around new initiatives and gaining stakeholder buy-in

  • Relationship focused, able to engage across functions within the company, and acting as a trusted business partner and advisor to business partners at all levels of the organization

  • Highly organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects and deliver on time

  • A thoughtful, collaborative team member who seeks to both learn from others and contribute to growth and betterment of the team

  • A quick study, able to jump in and gain a fact-based understanding of the supply base and specific category needs

YOU HAVE

  • 8-10 years of applicable experience in a procurement, logistics management or similar role

  • A proven track record of success sourcing and negotiating with global carriers

  • A strong working knowledge of the transportation and logistics category

  • The ability to build strong relationship and cross-functional partnerships

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
