Product Portfolio Director

About the role:

Gartner's portfolio is marked by a variety of offerings across technology sales and business sales, new client experiences, new tools, workflow applications, and peer experiences. Each practice has its own suite of products and individual roadmaps. The diversity and richness of our product portfolio led to the formation of a Portfolio Management team in Gartner's Product Management Organization, which serves as a single point of management for ensuring consistency in our offerings and creating cohesion in our product roadmap.

This role will own a portfolio of products and will collaborate with a group of product managers to drive innovations, roadmaps, setup products for release and standardize processes.

The Portfolio Management & Strategy team is responsible for:

  • Defining a comprehensive roadmap for Gartner, prioritizing innovation strategies, rationalizing the portfolio and allocating resources efficiently, contributing to profitability.
  • Identify cross-role opportunities/address any gaps, to increase value prop of portfolio
  • Define and continuously improve product architecture
  • Set the strategy for portfolio aligned to market opportunities
  • Standardize processes/tools/templates across GPM and ensure adoption across Cross role, GBS and GTS PMs, enabling Gartner's goal of scaling as an org and driving consistency across the board
  • Collaborate with product managers, sales, service and research to ensure product setup and release management of product launches
  • Build model for efficient resource and budget utilization; Continuously improve and support annual budget planning as needed
  • Enable GPM's day-one culture through workflows leveraging technology for seamless collaboration across PMs, defining the PM roles/skills needed and onboarding new hires

What you will do:

  • Partner with the Product Management teams to innovate and manage the systems, processes and structures related to product setup, retirement, and operationalizing a product
  • Drive consistency and efficiency
  • Aligned to and act as a knowledge center for their product family; Identify cross-role opportunities
  • Partner with Product Management leads to build a consistent operating and innovation model
  • Support GPM budget and financial planning processes, and partner with Finance, HR and recruiting to ensure efficiency and adjust budget forecasts as needed
  • Potentially manage a team of individuals to drive change and standardize operational practices
