About the role: The National Practice Director of Industrial Hygiene is accountable for growing their designated Practice Area by expanding market presence, geographic footprint, client base, service offerings and colleagues capabilities, while optimizing quality and delivery; in collaboration with the Regional SVPs and the EH3S SVP. The role has direct responsibility in managing and developing colleagues to deliver the National Industrial Hygiene Practice business plans for sales, revenue and profit growth. Provides strategic leadership to develop and grow the Industrial Hygiene consulting practice area by leading a coordinated approach for marketing, sales, service delivery and colleague development through Regional Practice Leaders, Consulting business unit leaders and key client leaders. National Practice Director Responsibilities:
Create, own, and direct implementation of the agreed Industrial Hygiene Practice Strategy for growing the breadth of BSI Consulting Services offering including the expansion of its Practice Area market presence, geographic footprint, and service offering. Effectively manage, motivate and develop people affiliated with the Practice Area through a center of excellence model to engage employees and create opportunities for skills development, coaching and implementation of BSI Consulting methodology. Work in collaboration with the Regional SVPs, other National Practice Directors, Regional Practice Leaders, Account Leaders and Sellers to maximize the uptake of a broad Industrial Hygiene Practice and Client portfolio across the various regions. Embodies and promotes the BSI purpose, mission and values in support of the BSI vision. Embed a Key Account and Sales culture across the Practice Team to drive revenue growth and quality delivery. Leverage awareness of market trends and emerging opportunities and inform the Regional SVPs and EH3S SVP of the Practice Area market intelligence to facilitate delivery of the practice reflecting the client and geographical requirements as well as complementary services. Develop and publicize intellectual capital related to the Practice Area to drive BSIs position in the industry as thought leaders. Manage the regional coverage and quality service, and channel to the Regional SVPs improvements from client insight. Manage and deliver the annual and periodic Practice Area business plans as part of the overall BSI EH3S calendar and deliver its targets for sales, revenue and profit growth in collaboration with the Regional SVPs. Lead the Practice Area management team and reinforcing the sales and practice culture to ensure that the objectives of the Practice Area sub-stream are met. Monitor, report and act upon the KPIs and scorecards. Manages resource utilization for the Practice Area and that core capability challenges are planned and resourced to enable client delivery. Strengthen, standardize and implement the processes and systems within the Practice Area to further integrate the business and continually improve services for clients. Work with the Regional SVPs and EH3S SVP to continuously improve and develop the technical Practices nationally and beyond to deliver service excellence. Continue to build a Consulting community to sustain a culture of innovation, curiosity, and transparency.
Education/Qualifications:
15+ years of building expert knowledge and a nationally recognized reputation perceived by the market as a thought leader in Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health & Safety. Minimum 10+ years in a consulting or professional services environment. Requires comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of EHS responsibilities, regulations, procedures and business practices, including general broad knowledge of EHS best management practices and regulations. Experience effectively leading, influencing, inspiring, and managing others. Prior senior level consulting experience in Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health & Safety including successful sales/business development. In-depth experience developing and implementing business strategies and goals. Expert consulting skills in the technical service area including creating and developing innovative ideas and solutions to complex problems. Must be able to generate new ideas and approaches to issues and recognize new opportunities. Must be able to develop new business from existing and new customers (Sales). Strategic focus with ability to roll up the sleeves and dig in. Prior management experience and demonstrated success including success attracting, interviewing, hiring, and retaining high quality staff. Prior experience leading, mentoring, and developing staff to management and leadership positions. Ability to effectively identify, organize, and deploy resources according to complex project and client needs. Project Management including scoping, resource allocation for small to large projects. Understanding of consulting metrics and financial measurements. Proficient and self-sufficient in excel, word, PowerPoint. Strong writing and presentation skills. Prioritize many ideas, responsibilities and projects with clear execution. Independent self-starter with willingness to jump in andtake on new assignments and to be innovative
