General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The role of Branded Technology Product Manager - Nutrition is to provide leadership to specific product areas within the Branded Technologies & Biological solutions group, including product development, use training, and market positioning; to create demand and enhance growth and profitability. This position also has the responsibility of assisting with financial analyses and performance metrics to manage product lines and inventories.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:



  • Deep understanding of Ag industry crops, technologies, and practices, including extensive plant nutrition market knowledge
  • Ability to develop the strategic direction, long-term and annual product plans for strategically selected products
  • Expertise in growing sales and profitability within plant nutrition product lines
  • Strong ability to support tactical marketing needs and oversee all phases of direct project launches
  • Demonstrated skill in coordinating field input into the business planning and execution process
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 40%


Key Personal Attributes Include:



  • Proven leadership ability, including the ability to build relationships with cross-functional team members
  • A 4-year bachelor's degree, or higher, is required with a strong preference for agriculture or life-science-focused technical or business majors.
  • Prefer agriculture industry credentials such as CCA, PCA, CPAg
  • Excellent written and verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to set priorities
  • Skill in creative and critical thinking to achieve goals
  • Ability to remain detail-oriented with a wide range of responsibilities


Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:



  • Identifying key external and internal stakeholders and working with them to develop business and marketing strategies
  • Branding Wilbur-Ellis products, coordinating sales training, information sharing, and data development as needed to support marketing strategies
  • Manage vendor relations, negotiations, and selection of new products
  • Reviewing product idea initiations and managing the New Product Development process
  • Collaborating around the idea initiation, product formulation, registration, sourcing, packaging, promotion, education, etc. to introduce new branded products
  • Aid in the identification of new product opportunities and new market access points for Value Added Nutrition products.
