Paralegal, Commercial Contracts: Become the Newest Member of Kontoor Brands

The primary responsibilities of this position is to provide support to (i) the Assistant General Counsel, Commercial & Privacy relating to drafting, negotiating and tracking a wide variety of contractual agreements, and (ii) the Legal Team as a whole related to legal operations and legal compliance activities.

Responsibilities

Assist with review of sales contracts, procurement contracts and NDAs.

  • Draft legal documents and correspondence for review and approval by counsel.
  • Negotiate contracts both verbally and in writing with counterparties
  • Assist in drafting and updating contracts playbook
  • Coordinate contract review and approval process with commercial and procurement personnel.
  • Coordinate execution of documents and tracking.
  • Assist with management of the privacy program, including consumer response management (manage and maintain privacy mailboxes that receive queries, privacy-related requests, etc.), data map maintenance, strategic initiatives, data base activity, training, and change management.
  • Primary management of the Legal billing system, legal accruals, and timely payment of legal invoices.
  • Assist with discovery, record holds, and other litigation matters as requested.
  • Assist with monitoring and managing the ethics hotline and other compliance tools, change management and training.
  • Assist with special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other members of the legal team, internal business stakeholders and outside counsel as needed.

Educational/Position Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Paralegal certificate is a plus
  • Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
  • High work capacity with a focus on efficiency and agility; this role requires the ability to handle multiple priorities at any given time, with little oversight
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills required

Skills:

  • Knowledge of corporate law and contracts
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation
  • Experience working in the legal department of a publicly traded company, preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Legal Tracker or One Trust is preferred but not required
