The Job

Our Commerical Operations Team is looking for a Business Analyst I to work on a hybrid schedule from our Headquarter office in the Greater Houston area. This position will report to to the Manager of Business Applications. They will manage data analysis and usage requirements and focuses on data- and integration-intensive initiatives. Primary responsibilities include working with understanding data analysis and integration requirements and guiding solution design and architecture to meet these needs, in addition to core business analyst responsibilities.

The role is to analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders, be they customers or end users. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to convey to development teams throughout the software lifecycle. The Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development process, and to ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring IMS understanding of business requirements.

What You'll Do:



  • Manage requirements creation, analysis and documentation processes to capture business and end user needs. Prioritize needs within and across projects based on business impact
  • Support business case creation
  • Communicate solution tradeoffs to business partners to frame and influence project decisions
  • Engage delivery teams to communicate solution vision and priorities
  • Promote architectural standards and consistency
  • Promote usability standards and design solutions with a high-quality, effortless UX
  • Proactively monitor industry, functional, and technology trends to guide business partners on emerging opportunities
  • Support enterprise digital strategy and organizational change management
  • Work with business partners to understand requirements for data use, analysis, and quality
  • Identify and aggregate data from internal and external sources
  • Guide solution design to meet data and integration requirements
  • Envision future use cases for big data and roadmap solutions to fulfill those use cases
  • Identify new opportunities to leverage data and to integrate data or applications to enhance business value
  • Coordinate with data owners to ensure data accessibility and quality
  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures
  • Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional image with the ability to form good partner relationships across functions
  • Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with a focus on outcomes
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Power Platform


Qualifications

What You'll Need:




  • Minimum of two (2) years previous work-related experience in the below tasks.



  • Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent, from an accredited university, in engineering, business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems or equivalent industry experience is preferred.



  • Experience with Business Analysis



  • Recent College Graduate or Experience working on a project using Agile or iterative methods



  • Over two years of experience in business analytics



  • Demonstrated experience in writing requirements and test specifications



  • Demonstrated experience using data to drive business decisions




Due to the Scope of Work, You'll Need to Be:

A U.S. Citizen or Active Perm Green Card Holder

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to a Manager level position or above.
