Associate Manager, Product Management

The Associate Manager, Product Development is responsible for working with partner teams, as well as internal Strategy, Customer Experience, Sales, Delivery, Development, and Marketing teams to own, manage, and grow products and services that have an impact on K12 Education organizations. This position is key in defining and executing on product vision for owned products as well as the strategy to achieve it. The Associate Manager, Product Development will manage other Product Managers managing product lines in the same industry and give guidance and direction, aligning to company vision.

Key Areas of Responsibility



  • Be the subject matter expert on owned product portfolio and associated programs
  • Manage, guide and mentor direct reports
  • Understand and track market trends and needs to identify opportunities to increase sales and improve customer experience, solving customer problems
  • Develop and cultivate strong relationships with customers, partner contacts, and internal teams to gain customer and market insight
  • Evaluate and communicate the performance of the owned portfolio and make strategic recommendations and decisions
  • Communicate the strategic direction of the portfolio and the decisions behind it
  • Support opportunities and programs to promote the portfolio of products and unsure customer success
  • Align with Sales, R&D, Marketing, Operations, and other internal and partner teams to support new and ongoing initiatives around owned portfolio



Other Responsibilities



  • Market research and validation
  • Prioritization and management for owned product lines
  • Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships



Education and/or Experience Qualifications



  • 5-7 years of Product Portfolio Management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience



Required Qualifications



  • Strong experience using data to make informed decisions
  • High level of customer empathy and want to create and promote products and services that make an impact
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and balance customer and business needs
  • Comfortable using data to make decisions
  • Experience managing multiple product lines or a portfolio of related products



Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience in K12 Education or Ed Tech
  • Comfortable with collaborating in effective, cross-functional teams
  • Enjoy planning and managing complex projects and initiatives that align with company vision
  • Comfortable conducting customer interviews to understand customer needs
  • Previous experience working effectively work remote, geographically distributed teams
