About the opportunity

Reporting to the VP for Global Service Innovation, the Director for Global Service Methodology leads and coordinates the development of next generation service delivery methodology across the Professional Services practice. Using a "continuous improvement" approach and working in cross-functional partnership across delivery units, the director will develop new global delivery methodology structures that reimagine service pathways built on new outcomes-based delivery practices.

Where you will make an impact

  • Building new outcomes-based delivery practices across the service delivery units for Ellucian SaaS solutions with an eye on quality, risk mitigation and change management that are globally aligned across Ellucian global regions
  • Ensuring effective construction of service engagements aimed at achievement of customers' desired outcomes
  • Building a seamless pre-sales to post-sales delivery architecture to solution delivery coordination, effectively leveraging both Enterprise and Solutions Architect roles
  • Providing thought leadership, best practices and higher ed industry knowledge into customer focused delivery practices
    Developing related materials and artifacts that drive and support the new delivery models, where appropriate
  • Proactively engaging with North American service delivery peers to assess and coordinate effective adoption of new delivery practices, involving global service delivery peers for alignment and global awareness
  • Ensuring effective adoption of new service delivery methodologies through new iterative, client segmentation approach
  • Monitoring in-flight implementations as new methodology is adopted - collect feedback, adjust artifacts, reiterate strategy and enable deployment teams with any changes
  • Partnering with Field Delivery Directors to incorporate and influence the overall project management delivery methodology
  • Maintaining awareness of next generation Ellucian solution set as solutions mature and incorporate appropriately into methodology strategy
  • Building positive working relationships/partnerships across the Sales, Product Management, Cloud Services, Professional Services and the Project Management organizations
  • Fulfilling the broader mission of global Professional Services as it relates to global scale
  • Working collaboratively with the Services team to develop and/or improve strategies, policies, and processes; support and promote the use of new delivery methodologies and best practices
  • Understanding the global Services marketplace and delivery best practices in driving new implementation practices throughout the organization
  • Where appropriate, providing leadership on critical issue management
  • Where appropriate, establishing delivery compliance and assurance metrics and measurements along with monitoring practices

What you will bring

  • 5+ years of director level experience in Higher Education institutions OR 10 years of consulting or directly relevant client management experience
  • In depth knowledge of the higher education solution delivery practice
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role technology serves in supporting the college/university educational mission and how it may be leveraged to bring out operational efficiencies through speed to delivery
  • Positive, self-motivated, team-oriented individual with the ability and desire to innovate, create, and develop solutions that have the capability of transforming the effectiveness of higher education
  • Demonstrated and successful implementation of IT governance, standards, best practices, and outsourcing options relevant for the higher education setting
  • Ability to develop detailed plans to deliver excellence at educational clients
  • Exceptional relationship building skills supported by proven action and follow-through using strong time and project management skills
  • Superior interpersonal, written and oral communications skills with an emphasis on relationship building, facilitating, public speaking and presentations.
  • Willingness to travel and consult on-site, up to 25% of any particular month
  • Ability to coordinate and organize travel logistics, time and expense reporting, and other administrative tasks
