Job Summary: The Full Stack Developer and Database Manager works with colleagues, designs surveys, and adapts them to the online environment, providing essential and supporting computer code. Responsible for the management of the data produced, and provides computer code to address practical research questions. Designs and manages other data systems for use in a client/server computing environment. Prepares program documentation and procedures. Provides documentation, training, and support to users, as required. Develops programs independently or manages work of a small group of more junior programming staff. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required. Relevant experience or certification may be accepted in lieu of a degree; AWS Data Analytics, Azure Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer (AWS or Microsoft) preferred. Minimum five years of relevant experience required; biostatistics experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and experience in relevant programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, and SQL. Experience with operating and maintaining relational database servers such as MySQL. Ability to create unique solutions with computer programming languages for data entry, manipulation, and translation is preferred. Ability to understand and interpret complex computer code. Understanding of rules governing efficient design of the chosen computer software. Understanding of operational procedures of desktop computer and server. Read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
